Curriculum > School of Performing Arts

At the beginning of 2000 St Michael's Collegiate opened the School of Performing Arts, an exciting and innovative ’ school within a school ’ for students with outstanding talents in music, drama, and dance.

Entry to the School of Performing Arts is by audition. Children who are gifted, talented or who demonstrate exceptional interest in the performing arts will be given the opportunity to develop in a nurturing environment, to be taught by experts and practising artists and to attain outstanding results in their chosen fields of endeavour. All students in the SPA will be full-time students at Collegiate and will follow modified academic and co-curricular programs. Students will participate in Master Classes and in frequent public performances.

The facilities offered include a wide variety of indoor and outdoor rehearsal and performance spaces, a professional recording studio, state of the art lighting and sound equipment, sprung floor dance and drama studios, and exhibition and reception areas.
